Location: Lion’s Roar Dharma Center, 3240 B St, Sacramento, CA 95816
Mindful, gentle yoga sessions accessible to all body types and experience levels. Asana practice helps relieve stress and tension and is an excellent preparation for meditation.
Experience the heart-opening effects of Kirtan – devotional singing/chanting– along with the effects of sound to help “raise silence” as an aid to meditation.
Private lot and street parking. Enter the Temple through front door, closest to sidewalk. Enter Community Room through side door adjacent to parking lot.
ALL DAY – Sand Mandala Viewing
9:00 – 9:45 am – Introduction to Buddhist Yoga and its connection to the yogic traditions of India. Lama Jinpa. (Temple)
10:00 – 11:15 am – Mindful Yoga with Sandi (in Community Room – back half of the building). Gentle, accessible yoga for all body types and levels of experience. Extra mats are available if needed.
12:30 – 1:45 pm – Aroma-Bliss Yoga with Sandi (Community Room). Breathe, stretch and move into a higher level of awareness! Like practicing yoga, essential oils can help relieve stress, improve sleep, reduce tension and help quiet the mind. The asana practice is accessible and meditative with distinct rest periods in between the postures. The synergistic effect of using essential oils while engaging in this gentle, yet deep practice is powerful, transformative.
2:00 – 3:15 pm – Kirtan with Journey To Awaken, followed by group meditation (Temple). Learn about and experience the power of sound and chanting. Chanting opens the heart and prepares the mind for meditation. Yoga encompasses much more than the physical practice of asana (postures). Learn how chanting and sound are related to the 8 limbs of yoga known as Ashtanga.
