Join Us for Yoga Basics Workshops

Join Sandi to get started with yoga if you are a beginner, or review the basics if you are coming back to yoga or just want to re-connect to the roots of the practice.

With special attention to safety precautions, this workshop includes:

  • Finding safety, comfort and alignment in a variety of basic yoga asanas (postures)
  • How to modify poses for individual needs
  • Breathing/pranayama and meditation basics
  • Brief overview of the 8 limbs of yoga (philosophy) and the original purpose of the practice: to help prepare the body and the mind for meditation

Ananda Yoga is gentle and appropriate for all body types and levels of experience. This meditative practice includes affirmations to help cultivate higher awareness of the Divine Presence within. Rest periods are encouraged and taken in between the postures to facilitate body, breath and energy awareness.

Wear comfortable clothing such as leggings or sweats. Bring a yoga mat. Contact Sandi if you need to borrow a mat. Optional but helpful: firm cushion or yoga blanket(s), block(s), strap, water.
